DATA NOT COLLECTED

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

The Otso app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

What the app doesn't do

Your data, your control

Because the app collects nothing, there's nothing to request, export, or delete beyond deleting the app itself.

This website

The website, not the app, counts page views with PostHog so we can see which pages are read. Until you answer the question in the corner, it does this without cookies and without storing anything in your browser: PostHog's servers in the EU (Frankfurt) turn your IP address and browser type into an anonymous number that changes every day, and do not keep the address. That number can't be used to recognise you the next day or on another site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider is PostHog, Inc. (USA).

If you answer "Sure", PostHog sets a cookie from then on, so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one and see which country visits come from. There are no session recordings and no advertising. This is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). If you answer "No thanks", nothing is sent to PostHog, unless you open the feedback form yourself (see below).

You can change your answer at any time:

The small "Made by" badge in the corner loads from madebybadge.netlify.app, our own project. It counts how often it is shown, opened and clicked, without cookies. If you click its "Share your feedback" button, the badge loads a short feedback form from PostHog (eu.posthog.com, PostHog's EU servers) inside its window; nothing is requested from PostHog for this before that click. This also happens if you answered "No thanks", because opening the form is your own action. What you write is stored in our PostHog project together with the address of the page you sent it from and the site's host name.
